The State Duma took up the “dead and very harmful novelty” of Russian legislation
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted today in the first reading a law according to which foreigners with close Russian relatives will be able to stay in Russia on the basis of a visa for a year, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“By adopting this law, we are meeting the numerous wishes of people who today are forced, based on our procedure, to go through all the registration procedures. This is a very important step towards our compatriots.
We are finally addressing a dead and very harmful innovation in our legislation that continues to be in effect. Our compatriots who have not received a certain status are forced to leave for 90 days after 90 days of stay, and then enter again for 90 days. Why this surprise is not completely obvious. Here we remove this need only in relation to close relatives. This is the first step, which should be developed in the future,” said deputy Konstantin Zatulin.
