The State Duma announced foreign sabotage against Putin’s reform
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky today at a State Duma meeting demanded to officially refute information about the possibility of holding early parliamentary elections due to amendments to the Constitution initiated by President Vladimir Putin.
“Someone is actively spreading false rumors about the dissolution of the State Duma in order to hold elections in September. Why do they do this? Let someone officially say - there will be no dissolution of the State Duma, all elections will be held on time!” – Zhirinovsky demanded, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"You are absolutely right. Such stuffing was carried out by foreign news agencies. As soon as this information on their part began to spread, some of our media picked it up... Colleagues, there is no need to discuss far-fetched topics that later turn out to be fake,” said State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
The press service of the State Duma called the rumor about early elections “interference in the sovereign affairs of the Russian Federation.”
