The State Duma is urged not to give any concessions to McDonald's
The State Duma must adopt a tough law, without any concessions, on the introduction of external management of the assets of foreign enterprises that have decided to leave Russia as part of the sanctions announced by the West.
Alexander Ternovtsov, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation in the Kursk Region, said this at a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I raised a question regarding the bill on external management. I hope that it will be tougher in the final version, because the version that has now been submitted to the State Duma is quite loyal.
We are talking about introducing external management, a manager is appointed who controls the asset, and the owners can either sell or return.
Guys, either you come back and continue working, or your assets are confiscated!
There is no need to think that our actions - loyal, adequate, humane, Christian - will be appreciated. This is not how we will be judged.
Of course, we need to tighten that law and not give two years for someone to think whether he will return or not. You are a businessman and now decide for yourself: either you state, draw a line under the losses, fix them, or move on.
Everything will depend not even on the state. Everything now depends on civil society,” Ternovtsov insists.
He believes that the departure of Western companies will not be a disaster for Russia.
“Lack of imports – presence of opportunities. Opportunities not only for our businessmen. If there is no import, either our Asian partners will come to the market here and replace what is not currently on the market, or we will develop our own business and develop our own technologies. We proceed from the fact that at the moment there is demand and there is supply,” the representative of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation is convinced.
Ternovtsov cited the Miratorg company as an example of effective import substitution, which relatively recently released a series of food for pets, and the products began to be in great demand on the Russian market.
