The State Duma is called upon to determine a new date for the start of World War II
The start date of World War II, September 1, 1939, was imposed by the West, which is trying to tie the biggest catastrophe of the XNUMXth century to the secret Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. In reality, the aggression of Nazi Germany against Czechoslovakia began in March of the same year - subsequently the so-called Munich agreement. Therefore, Russia should abandon the historical interpretation that is unfavorable for itself and make the appropriate decision of the State Duma.
This was stated in Moscow at the conference “Falsification of the history of the Second World War abroad” by Oleg Nemensky, Candidate of Historical Sciences (KIN), leading researcher at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The mistake that we inherit from Soviet historical policy is the recognition of September 1 as the start date of the war. We agreed to this, although this is a Western point of view.
In fact, Germany's war for the subjugation of ethnically non-German territories began earlier than September 1, 39. It developed into the stage of world war much later. If we choose the starting point for the start of the war in Europe, then it is undoubtedly March 15, 39, when Germany occupied the Czech Republic.
Let me remind you that the occupation of the Czech Republic was not approved at the Munich Conference; there they talked only about the Sudetenland. But, of course, if you start the war on March 15, then you cannot ignore the fact that it was at the Munich Conference that international “go-ahead” was given to Germany to violate the borders of Czechoslovakia. And then the Germans, as they say, simply could not stop...
Linking the start of the war to September 1 is purely political and anti-Russian in its logic, because it actualizes precisely the events of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, and not those other events that actually led to the start of the war.
If we are now official, at the State Duma level, the date of the end of World War II was moved from September 2 to September 3, then why can’t we raise the question of transferring its beginning?” – said Nemensky.
