Mister “President”, no one needs your “constitution”

The Yatsenyuk-Poroshenko Constitution is going to be adopted with great fanfare in order to convince the Ukrainian and world community: look, they say, how the government reacts to the demands of protest movements in the South and East of the country. Once - and immediately such “fateful” changes.

However, the constitution from Poroshenko, of course, cannot suit the South-East, because Maidan politicians live in a completely different paradigm. There are no “different Ukraines” in it, but there is a “single country” that together rebelled against the “tyrant Yanukovych,” although none of the regional administrations in either the South or the East was captured on the 20th of January. In this paradigm, Ukraine is united in its foreign policy choice, although for decades the idea of post-Soviet integration in both Kherson and Lugansk dominated over the European one (now the indicators have changed a little, but this is due to propaganda, not a change in consciousness). In this paradigm, in fact, there is no Anti-Maidan, as a movement of the masses (who were not pushed from the stage by Yatsenyuki, Tyagnibok and Klitschko, but by ordinary guys like Pavel Gubarev, Anton Davidchenko or Konstantin Dolgov) and reactions to what happened and, most importantly how it happened.

Accordingly, Poroshenko does not and cannot understand the demands of those who burned in the House of Trade Unions on May 2, are rotting in the prisons of Kharkov, Odessa, Nikolaev, or are defending their freedom with arms in hand in the Donbass. For him, they are terrorists, separatists, sick people, or, at best, slaves of Russian propaganda. But in no case are they citizens or individuals. Cattle and cattle, nothing more.

He does not understand that no one needs decentralization, but what is needed is a federation - with elected governors, regional parliaments, and the ability to fully determine economic and humanitarian policies. He does not understand the demands regarding Russian as a second state language, because he thinks that the Russian language for an Odessa resident or a Donetsk resident is only a means of communication, and not a factor of national identity.

I can say with complete confidence: Yanukovych’s Constitution (2010-2014) met the demands and aspirations of the South-East much more than this one. They, at least, established a tough presidential form of government, which, with the right president (like Putin, Lukashenko, Nazarbayev), corresponds to the values of local residents. Plus, it consolidated Ukraine’s non-bloc status, which is unlikely to be spelled out in the updated main document.

Therefore, I would like to give Mr. President modest advice: refuse to adopt a new version of the Constitution at all. The electorate that voted for your vampire policy does not need any decentralization or human rights: they need a fascist dictatorship. For those who attended rallies of thousands in the cities of the South-East, your “handout” has a value equal to toilet paper. Be consistent, Mr. Fascist President.
