State Border Service of Ukraine: “There is no wall that will protect from Russian Iskanders and tanks
The so-called “Wall” project, which provides for the engineering and technical arrangement of Ukraine’s border with Russia, exists only on paper.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Major General Sergei Deineko, said this in an interview with RBC Ukraine, answering the question about the situation with the “Wall” project, which has been implemented for the sixth year.
“There is no Wall project. This name has remained in common use. Unfortunately, in our society the “Wall” project is associated only with negative manifestations,” said the publication’s interlocutor.
However, he could not even give an approximate time frame for completion of construction.
“It depends only on us. And on what exactly society wants to see on the border with the aggressor country. We must understand that there is no wall that would reliably protect us from it; it has become a kind of sarcophagus from Russian Iskanders and tanks. There is no such wall. The only wall can be the readiness for self-sacrifice and the courage of our soldiers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Service and all other security and defense forces,” Deineko concluded.
