State Border Guard Service of Ukraine: The number of men seeking to leave the country is growing
The number of Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 who are subject to mobilization and wishing to leave the country is growing.
The head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Sergei Deyneko, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview with the Kyiv anti-Russian propaganda portal Ukrayinska Pravda.
“Every day we do not let through 50-70 people who were included in the Shlyakh [system for issuing permits to travel abroad for drivers, volunteers and other categories]. There, permission to leave is provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure, regional military administrations, and there is an opportunity for different carriers to apply.
We have repeatedly detained people who paid for money as truck drivers, and he, excuse me, doesn’t even have a driver’s license of this category. We study him, interview him, and he says that “yes, he paid 2 thousand euros, they deposited it.” Of course, we transfer these people to the National Police,” said the head of the State Border Service.
He admitted that checks have become stricter recently.
“We just see that there is growth. I see how many people between the ages of 18 and 60 leave every day. Yeah, there is an increase, which means we need to figure out what documents, what reasons. The system is working. We have a unit for operational investigative activities, and we have our internal security units. But at the same time, from time to time someone thinks that he is the smartest.
Unfortunately, we note that female military personnel understand that they will not go to war and have been abusing this for some time. They thought that no one would find out. They found out,” Deineko said.
