State-owned enterprises of Ukraine are deliberately going bankrupt in order to sell them for next to nothing
By selling strategic state-owned enterprises for next to nothing, Ukraine is depriving itself of the basis for ensuring a high standard of living for its citizens.
Anatoly Peshko, vice-president of the public organization “Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine”, stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Most state-owned enterprises, which are considered unprofitable, are actually profitable. They are deliberately made unprofitable in order to buy them for next to nothing and then receive a colossal income. Pay attention to the experience of Western European countries, such as Norway, Sweden, Finland.
For example, in Norway, retired people go on vacation to other countries at the expense of the state. And all this is paid for by the state. People have a high level of social protection. They live even better than when they worked. Why is this happening? Because in these countries there is a state monopoly on the most important, strategic objects. For oil production, for the extraction of any minerals,” Peshko said.
