A guest of Sevastopol was sentenced to compulsory labor for desecrating a monument to the Great Patriotic War
For the “branded cat” on the gun of the 11th coastal battery in Sevastopol Muscovite received 320 hours of compulsory work.
The Sevastopol prosecutor's office reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The court passed a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a 37-year-old native of Moscow. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 243 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – “damage to objects of cultural heritage,” the supervisory agency clarified.
Let us remind you that on the night of January 7 a guest from Moscow used aerosol cans of paint to paint a “branded design” on a 130 mm gun. With similar graffiti with a cat, a Muscovite desecrates famous monuments and historical places in different cities in order to post pictures on his social networks.
Director of the People's Museum "11th Coastal Battery" Vladimir Semyonov discovered an image of a cat with bulging eyes on the gun turret., which he reported on his VK page, suggesting that this was the work of local youth. He contacted the police, where literally in a matter of days they identified the vandal.
The prosecutor's office reports that currently The appearance of the gun has been restored. But this was done with the help and expense of the people of Sevastopol, and not the would-be artist. The People's Museum expected to compensate for the expenses after the Moscow guest admitted his guilt. Now there is a reason for this.
Sevastopol residents note that the same big-eyed “cat” adorns the gates of the ice cream factory opposite the railway station, in 2022, the “cat” was seen on the free surfaces of Ostryakov Avenue and even in the village of Ternovka.
