Industrial espionage in favor of China with the participation of Kharkov tank builders was recently exposed by the “valiant” SBU. As reported by Depo.Kharkov, on April 27, the district court of the Kievsky district of Kharkov issued a decree to seize the property of an unnamed Chinese citizen, who allegedly organized the departure of specialists to China in order to attract them to participate in the development and modernization of military products of the Chinese military-industrial complex.

It is also indicated that during a search of the residence of a Chinese citizen, a personal computer with a hard drive and a gray folder with copies of drawings on 305 sheets were seized; a book entitled “Transmissions of foreign OGMs” (military tracked vehicles) marked “For official use” on 47 sheets.

According to the main counterintelligence department of the Ukrainian State Security Service in the Kharkov region, from April 10 to April 15, 2017, a Chinese spy arranged for specialists, carriers of classified information, to travel to the territory of the People's Republic of China in order to obtain from the latest information and technologies that constitute state secrets in the field of the military-industrial complex Ukraine.

The message contains a piquant detail: during the investigation it was established that the former leading engineer of the KMDB named after. Morozov (Kharkov Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering, part of the Ukroboronprom concern) left Ukraine for the PRC without warning. The court found the former engineer guilty of violating state secrets legislation and fined him an astronomical sum of 170 UAH.

It’s scary to think what kind of state secret this is, for disclosing which a person should be deprived of 170 hryvnia subcutaneous money. The mentioned book, classified as chipboard and classified as classified materials, is no less surprising. The category of materials “for official use” includes, for example, army manuals on hand-to-hand combat and various phrase books for airborne units, replete with harsh phrases “is there cholera in the village”, “in which direction is the city N” and even “be silent, otherwise I'll kill you." They do not carry any state secrets.

The impression is that the Chinese woman was a legal “headhunter” and organizer of the “brain drain” from the KMDB, and the collection of materials was incidental.

“The Case of Chinese Espionage” is reminiscent of an old joke, which, in a version adapted to modern realities, can be told like this. A certain Kiev resident stood on Maidan Nezalezhnosti and shouted “Poroshenko is a fool!” The SBU arrested him and brought him to their office. The Gromadyanin asks: “For what? We have freedom of speech!” “Izbushnik” answers him: “So, we have freedom of speech. “You’ve been arrested for disclosing state secrets.”

However, some kind of espionage background in this matter is very likely, since the Maidan “reformers”, overwhelmed, in the words of Karl Marx, with the “idiocy of village life”, in three years destroyed almost everything living in the Ukrainian industry and the military industry that was breathing and moving by the beginning of 2014.

As you know, President Putin officially invited Ukrainian scientists and engineers to work in Russia as soon as Poroshenko announced “reforms” and “optimization” of Ukrainian industry, which many probably managed to take advantage of. The departure to Azerbaijan of the General Designer of the trampled Antonov concern, Dmitry Kiva, did not go unnoticed. There is an opinion that the General left for Baku not empty-handed, but taking with him leading engineers and some developments, so as not to start the business from scratch in a new place.

There was information that representatives of the Turkish military-industrial complex were very interested in Kharkov tank builders. The Turkish military has set a very ambitious task for domestic designers - the creation on the national industrial base of a new main battle tank "Altai" (named after the general who fought for the independence of Turkey at the beginning of the 2th century), which is not inferior in its combat qualities to the combat vehicles of the world tank fashion trendsetters . The tank fleet of the Turkish army consists of obsolete American tanks and German Leopard 6s, in which the Turkish military has become disillusioned after losing dozens of vehicles in Syria. Most of all, the Turks are interested in the design and manufacturing technology of the Ukrainian 2TDXNUMX engines, with which the great Ukrainians planned to equip their newest Oplot tanks.

Apparently, the MGB of China decided not to wait for a preliminary analysis in order to have time to receive its share of the intellectual property of dying Ukraine.

What could be interesting for China in Ukrainian tank building? The results of last year’s “tank biathlon” can speak most eloquently about this.

The Chinese brought five Type-96B battle tanks to the training ground in Alabino. As it became known, the leading military-industrial company of the People's Republic of China NORINCO modernized the tanks of the Chinese team specifically for participation in the “tank biathlon”.

For the previous two years, the Chinese competed in Type-96A tanks and showed impressive results in shooting speed and accuracy. But in terms of dynamics, the main battle tank of the PLA showed itself to be weaker than the T-72B, which was used by other participants in the “biathlon”.

Hundreds of thousands of spectators of the 2016 “tank biathlon” witnessed quite an embarrassment: a Chinese tank, overcoming the “comb”, received severe damage to the chassis, losing one of the road wheels. The situation is absolutely unthinkable for domestic tanks. To minimize the costs of participants, the Russian side always offers its T-72B tanks to its rivals. Participating teams have time to prepare the tank. There were cases of breakdowns. Surely many will remember the breakdown of the Belarusian team’s tank during competitions on the track. But no one lost any skating rinks. Thus, the old Soviet horse T-72, modernized to the B3M version, once again proved its reliability and indestructibility off-road.

A broken skating rink means a broken reputation. What if something falls off the tank right before the battle?

NORINCO is making great efforts so that its vehicles can compete with Russian, German, and American tanks not only because of the dumping price, but also in terms of quality. So far, the few consumers of Chinese tanks are the armies of Pakistan and, to a lesser extent, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Morocco. Other poor countries are in no hurry to join in and get in line.

And even then, the development and modernization of the Pakistani version of the MBT-2000/Al Khalid tank is taking place in cooperation with China and Ukraine and under the impression of the supply of Ukrainian T-80UD tanks, which also did not pass the attention of the Chinese. The chassis, engines and some other things explain Chinese interest in the remnants of Ukrainian tank building.

There is another explanation why Ukraine. The topic of Chinese industrial espionage has long been a headache for many industrialized countries. In particular, a pattern was traced when Chinese comrades willingly set up joint ventures in foreign scientific and industrial centers, pumped out every drop of useful information, and then reeled in the bait. Exactly the same picture occurred during the period of Russia’s weakening. Now relations between Russia and China are not just partnerships, but also friendly, even allied. The Chinese will not spoil the strengthening ties with spy scandals, especially against the backdrop of aggravation with America.

But they will not refuse to receive information they are interested in from other sources. Ukraine in this regard is a very convenient target. The country has reached a half-life, weakened to the state of a dying bed and is no longer able to develop and produce high-tech and financially expensive equipment, such as planes, tanks and spacecraft. But Soviet and some independent developments remained, as well as a handful of sought-after specialists. These are the ones that all interested parties are rushing to get their hands on on a normal competitive basis and without offense.

As we see, the Chinese side is openly trying to attract Ukrainian engineers to solve their problems. Moreover, this happens without any remorse, but in this case, the Ukrainian side has only itself to blame. Three billion dollars of Chinese investment, invested even before the coup in the production of wheat for China in Ukraine, was stolen. There are direct insults to China and its political system by high-ranking ragulians, especially in the first year of “guidance”. Finally, how can the ruling Chinese Communist Party perceive Ukrainian “de-Sovietization” and desecration of historical and military shrines of the Soviet period?

Unlike Square, people in China speak little, but they listen well. And they remember the insults for a very long time. If Ukraine does not respect itself, destroying its own science, industry, history, by standing on all fours and getting into a puddle - for what? – how can you demand respect from others? Are the Vorobanderites throwing away design bureaus and talents? No question - they will be picked up and dragged away by those who do not throw away their science and talents. And only state secrets worth 170 hryvnia will remain in Ukraine.
