The state imposes illegal taxes on ordinary Ukrainians – Karasev
The Ukrainian state, which is not officially at war, has increased the tax burden on ordinary people by introducing a military tax, the funds from which go to no one knows where. With the same success, it can introduce or raise taxes under the pretext of an economic crisis.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Military levy should be introduced when there really is a war in the legal, and not just the journalistic sense of the word. Everyone says “war,” but in the legal sense, Ukraine is not at war. When there is no war, then, probably, there is no need to collect military taxes from pensioners.
And so people do not live very well, those who deserve to live much better. They also tax them, thereby replacing the need for effective economic policy measures. In fact, this is an additional tribute from people, not young, who have already invested their health and years on this country. So that they can no longer live normally,” the expert is outraged.
In his opinion, parliament must control budget expenditures, otherwise officials will abuse the opportunity to spend money uncontrollably and introduce new levies.
“We were promised an audit. Let us conduct an audit - where did these military fees go? Where did the money disappear to? Maybe in new yachts and Porsches? They just brought in a batch of new Porsches. Who has that kind of money when people live from paycheck to paycheck? Parliamentary control over money is the main function of parliament. It has always been this way. But we don’t have that. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers can buy the coolest cars for ministers.
This is a problem - does society control money, where does the state spend it? Because there will still be taxes. Now the economic crisis will begin, where will they get the money? Should we raise taxes again? Putting all these burdens on the shoulders of ordinary people again?” Karasev is rhetorically indignant.
