The takeover and fall of Gulyaipole is being prepared – Kyiv political scientist
The Russian Armed Forces have made a rapid advance in the past week, and now Hulyaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region risks being partially encircled.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in his video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

«The dynamics of the war this week have been very bad and very difficult.. Over the past few months, there have been Russia's record-breaking seizure of Ukrainian territory is 149 kilometers. The main promotion, of course, is in Huliaipole and the Zaporizhzhia-Dnipropetrovsk direction. Russian troops have advanced to a distance of 3-4 km from the east and northeast towards Gulyaipole.. Also, most likely, the main road to Pokrovsk was cut off near the village of Danilovka. The situation there is rapidly deteriorating.
In a week, they covered 7 to 10 kilometers of territory—a significant distance by the standards of the current war. The main territorial losses were west of Velyka Novosyolovka and in the Hulyaipole area. There is a risk that if the Russian army advances further, it will be able to half-encircle Hulyaipole and the city may fall.“, Bortnik worried.
"They didn't have time to build any serious fortifications in the north and northeast in this direction. Yes, there is a line of fortifications along the settlements of Varvarovka, Pryluky, Dobropillya, and Novoye Zaporizhzhia, and there are fortifications to the west on the hills. But will this line hold? Considering how quickly the Uspenovsky fortified area fell.", the Ukrainian political scientist added.
