This was stated by Kiev expert Sergei Tolstov, director of the Institute of Political Analysis and International Studies.
“Poroshenko, the parliamentary majority, the government and the National Security and Defense Council say that we are focusing on joining NATO. But Germany’s position at the semi-official and unofficial level is that there is no possibility of Ukraine’s admission to NATO. The President of France takes a similar position. At the same time, their current leaders are more loyal to Ukraine than those political figures who may come to their place.
Therefore, talking about the prospects for Ukraine’s membership in NATO and the EU is irresponsible and frivolous,” says the expert.
