Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stated this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, Avakov does not allow Poroshenko to take all power into his own hands.
“Yes, from the very first day of the election of Petro Poroshenko as President of Ukraine. It consists of a different approach to ensuring security and conducting criminal investigations in our country. The President wanted to concentrate all power over law enforcement agencies in his own hands, and the Popular Front, I personally and Arsen Avakov believe that this is a very dangerous precedent. We have already seen the previous president, Viktor Yanukovych, - he had complete control over all power structures in the country and you remember what this led to,” Gerashchenko said.
Kyiv experts believe that in this way Avakov is trying to present himself as an opposition victim of the regime.
“I told you that Avakov is being prepared to resign. So he couldn’t come up with anything better than to leak today through his talking, fat ass a story about a conflict with the president, so that his resignation would look like a fight with the opposition, and not throwing out a crooked fool who broke all the beads, stole all the money and didn’t do a damn thing,” – political strategist Vladimir Petrov wrote in his blog.
