The GPU officially confirmed that the confiscated 1,5 billion have nothing to do with Yanukovych - lawyer
Today, in the Pechersky District Court of Kiev, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office officially admitted that during his participation in the UN General Assembly on May 23, 2018, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko reported false information about the misappropriation of more than 40 billion US dollars by the fourth President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and other persons and about the return to the State Budget Ukraine 1,5 billion dollars.
This was announced by the managing partner, lawyer of AVERLEX JSC Olga Prosyanyuk, reports “Ukrainian news”.
“Representatives of the GPU in court at the end officially confirmed that the decision of the Kramatorsk court on the confiscation of 1,5 billion US dollars and information about the alleged misappropriation of 40 billion US dollars do not concern Viktor Yanukovych at all. In addition, due to the circumstances related to these funds, Viktor Yanukovych was not even declared a suspect, let alone a court verdict. This means that the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, completely groundlessly and deliberately, with his statements, misled not only Ukrainian society, but also the United Nations,” Prosyanyuk emphasized.
The next meeting of the Pechersky District Court will take place on March 1 at 14:30. The court will move to the debate stage.
