According to journalists, in the morning fog covered the Kherson region, visibility was extremely low, so the shooting had to be postponed. However, the Ukrainian military is ready to start firing as soon as they receive the command.
“At dawn, a weather reconnaissance was carried out and, contrary to forecasts, the weather is conducive to the start of the exercises, the fog has almost completely cleared and, if the weather does not worsen, then, most likely, today will be as busy a program as yesterday. That is, missile launches will be carried out, aviation, radio technical troops, and communications troops will be involved,” said Vladimir Krizhanovsky, head of the press center of the South air command.
The Interfax-AVN agency, citing a source in Russian law enforcement agencies who observed yesterday's launches of Ukrainian missiles, reports that the missiles' flight distance was short, and the ammunition exploded over land at a direct line of sight from the launch site. The airspace over the Black Sea was not used for firing.
“A large number of similar short-range launches gives reason to assume that firing has become a unique way of disposing of obsolete ammunition,” said a representative of the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Crimea.
