A huge scandal is breaking out in Kyiv: Criminal cases have been launched against the capital's media
The wave of repression against the media has reached Kyiv - however, while in the provinces the special services are zealously fulfilling orders to fight “separatists,” in the capital the website “Our Money,” specializing in anti-corruption investigations, has become a defendant in the criminal case.
This was reported by editor-in-chief Oleksa Shalaysky.
According to him, the editor received a letter from the police informing them of the opening of criminal proceedings based on a complaint from Finanspromgaz about material damage from a note that was published by the site last year.
The most interesting thing is that the article in question concerned the corruption schemes of the oligarch Sergei Kurchenko, who is considered close to the Yanukovych Family, against whom criminal cases were opened on charges of fraud.
The police demand that the editor-in-chief provide information about the person who published the article within 5 days.

“If you think that they are fighting against the media in the courts, then this is true, but not the whole truth. Because this was the case during the previous government. The current one opens criminal cases for this. Honestly, in 25 years of journalism I saw this for the first time,” commented Shalaysky.
However, it turned out that another Internet resource, the Insider website, became involved in the criminal case.
This publication claims that the Finanspromgaz company, which initiated the showdown with journalists, is Kurchenko’s new oil trader, who successfully imports fuel from Belarus and works despite criminal cases against the oligarch’s old companies.
“Since the beginning of the year, large supplies of petroleum products to Ukraine have been carried out by Finanspromgaz LLC, which is controlled by Kurchenko... The Finanspromgaz company also holds a license to supply natural gas through pipelines. It was issued in May 2012 and is valid until May 2017,” wrote Insider.
