“In fact, we do not have any pro-European majority in parliament. Because as soon as it comes to some kind of reform, there are no votes. In general, the “European choice” is the theme. But, when we need to talk about introducing European practices, for example, paying taxes, showing reports, holding transparent tenders, making responsibility before the law inevitable, then even our government begins to demonstrate sheepishness, a stubborn reluctance to make reforms,” Rybachuk laments.
