Russian citizens will be allowed to participate in public hearings via the Internet
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted on Tuesday in the first reading a bill proposed by the legislative assembly of Sevastopol, which provides for the opportunity for citizens to participate in public hearings via the Internet.
“The developers propose adding a rule that you can transmit your comments and suggestions in the form of an electronic document,” explained Dmitry Belik, a deputy from Sevastopol who presented the bill.
“Colleagues from Sevastopol propose a completely decent goal - to streamline public discussions and public hearings. This is modern, not bad, digitalization is on the way,” Dmitry Ionin, a member of A Just Russia, assessed the bill.
At the same time, he recalled that public hearings are advisory in nature, and proposed the adoption of several more laws that would improve the status of hearings.
