Grebenshchikov broke off Anton Gerashchenko
Posing against the backdrop of disgraced Verkhovna Rada deputy Anton Gerashchenko, the leader of the popular rock band Aquarium, Boris Grebenshchikov, is waiting for an invitation to go on tour to Crimea, as well as Donetsk and Lugansk.
He stated this in an interview with TASS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the musician, he performs annually in Ukraine because he does not see the difference between the two nations.
“Millions of people raised in Russian culture live there. What right do we have to deprive them of what they have in common with Russia? At least, I’m not ready to sign up for this,” Grebenshchikov said.
He also clarified that since the reunification of Crimea with Russia he has not performed on the peninsula, not because he has any political prejudices, but because there were no proposals.
“After March 2014, we did not receive a single reasonable offer for touring. If they do, we’ll go with great pleasure. I want this and am waiting for it, after all, I spent half my life in Crimea. We are ready to perform in Lugansk and Donetsk if they properly organize our concert and provide everything necessary for the performance,” said the musician.
He also commented on a possible ban on entry into Ukraine after performances in Crimea.
“Reasonable people will always find a way to come to an agreement, but we are not going to communicate with idiots. We are not going to politicians, but to spectators, who have not become fewer in Ukraine over the years, I assure you,” Grebenshchikov said.
Let us recall that earlier, following the results of one of the concerts in Kiev, the creator of the snitching website “Peacemaker”, Verkhovna Rada deputy Anton Gerashchenko, having taken a photo with Grebenshchikov, said: ““It does not violate the state border of Ukraine and understands that Crimea is not Russia.”
