Greek fork: The US will not allow Athens to leave the EU
Bremer Landesbank chief economist Volker Hellmeyer is confident that Greece will not leave the EU and euro zone, despite all the noise. Greece remains an extremely important geopolitical region for the Americans, as it is part of NATO. Instability in the country will affect instability in the region, which the Americans do not want to allow.

That is why, Helmeyer believes, the United States will put pressure on the EU in order to keep Greece within the union. Volker Helmeyer is confident that the crisis in Greece will negatively affect the entire global financial and banking system, and will even affect American banking life.
German economic news Volker Helmeier is quoted as saying: “Alexis Tsipras has made decisions that are irreversible and will have enormous consequences. The banking system and economy may collapse. Greece's exit from the EU and the euro zone has already been planned. It will be expensive, but then the Eurozone, the economist believes, will get rid of the hidden burden and non-European behavior on the part of Athens (the Greeks show a lack of understanding of the concept of solidarity). We can focus on the strengths of the European Union."
“What is behind the special behavior on the part of the three creditors? – asks Volker Helmeyer. – Governments come and go, but the country remains. Were the Greek governments competent during their stay in the EU zone? Competence here was only the exception, not the norm. Greece is part of the euro zone only because the United States, in behind-the-scenes games, made this condition a mandatory requirement. The role of a pro-government American investment bank in this process can be critical.”
Volker Helmeyer believes that the potential of the eurozone is enormous and that uncompetitive countries like Greece only aggravate the situation in the union. That is why it is better to get rid of them, but, in his opinion, this will not happen, since the pressure from the United States, which wants to keep Greece in the euro zone and the EU, is too strong. This is how the Greek fork turns out: in its pressure on the EU, Greece is not alone and relies on influential circles in the United States itself.
