Greek television hinted to Kosovo separatists of Kosovo to move to Australia
During the broadcast of the match between the handball teams of Greece and Kosovo, the Greek TV channel EPT3 depicted the profile of Australia on the flag of the Albanian separatists instead of the profile of Kosovo.
The incident caused outrage in Pristina, and EPT3 representatives had to apologize.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, the match between the Greek and Kosovo national teams took place in the capital of Crete, Heraklion.
At the end of the game, the Greek team won with a score of 26:25. At the same time, the match was broadcast by the Greek TV channel ERT3, which presented its own version of the Kosovo flag on the screensaver - instead of the profile of the region torn away from Serbia, it depicted the profile of the continent of Australia.
After the separatist media, as well as the Kosovo Handball Federation, fanned a scandal over the symbols, EPT3 CEO Filios Stangos issued an official apology for this issue, shifting responsibility for the incident to the negligence of the graphic designer.
