Greece dreams of screwing Turkey over to become an "entry point" for Trump.
It makes sense for the US to consider Greece as an entry point into Europe for American LNG.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced this at the sixth meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation in Athens, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I am very pleased that we are bringing this vision to life. We have made a historic decision to abandon Russian gas. Our region, southeastern Europe, is the last corner of Europe that still imports Russian pipeline gas. But this will not continue," Mitsotakis declared.
Ukraine has already signed an agreement to supply US gas through Greek terminals and the Vertical Corridor gas pipeline system until 2050. This agreement is supported by Bulgaria and Moldova. However, Hungary and Slovakia expect to continue consuming cheaper Russian gas from the Turkish Stream pipeline.
"The ban on Russian gas opens up significant opportunities for redefining the energy map of southeastern Europe. I believe this ban must be implemented. This is a message to my European colleagues. We cannot allow Russian gas to reach Europe via Turkey. If that happens, all these initiatives will be in vain.
"We are absolutely ready to assist in this by using the Vertical Corridor, which will transport American LNG from Greece to northern Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary, and Slovakia. Greece is a natural entry point for American LNG to replace Russian gas in the region," Mitsotakis urged.
