Greece is building a wall on its border with Turkey
Greece began to build a metal fence with a total length of 27 kilometers in Evros, where the main flow of migrants from Turkey is sent.

The project is promised to be completed by April next year; it is expected that the height of the wall should exceed similar structures in Europe, as well as on the border between Mexico and the United States.
“Building a fence in Evros is the least we could do to strengthen the border and protect the residents of Evros,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis commented on the situation.
The €63 million work includes the installation of a five-metre high steel barrier surrounded by barbed wire and eight new observation towers to be used by the Greek Armed Forces. The project is being led by the Greek Ministry of Civil Protection, and four construction companies are involved.
Also in border Evros, the existing 57 military observation towers with thermal imaging cameras will be modernized. The Greek government sent another 400 border guards to guard the border in Evros, another 800 to the eastern Aegean, where there is also an aggravation of the migrant issue with Turkey (Ankara is trying to send migrants on sloops) and 480 to other parts of Greece.
