Gref thanked his “Ukrainian colleagues” and announced the sale of the business
All subsidiary banks of Sberbank, except the Ukrainian one, finished 2016 with a profit. The head of Sberbank, German Gref, stated this today in a report to shareholders, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I would like to say separately about Ukraine. Over the past year, we were able to significantly reduce the group’s losses in the Ukrainian market. And this despite the worsening macroeconomic situation and the conditions in which our bank operated. Thanks to our Ukrainian colleagues,” Gref said.
He regretfully announced the sale of the Ukrainian business.
“This was a big challenge and test for us. And we made the difficult decision to sell our Ukrainian business. We are now in dialogue with regulators in Ukraine,” Gref said.
Let us remind you that Sberbank has not opened a single branch in Crimea for three years.
