Neither Russia nor China needs Greenland – Russia has enough of its own Arctic, and China lacks the strength to annex the island. Meanwhile, by projecting its power onto Danish territory, the US risks dismantling NATO and losing allies.

Retired US Army Colonel Daniel Davis stated this on the ANI News video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Neither Russia nor China needs Greenland – Russia has enough of its own part of the Arctic,...

"He's just saying that he'll use force if necessary. And by necessary, he means a situation where you don't give him what he wants on the island of Greenland. So,If there are troops there, then a clash is entirely possible. And even the very thought that this is possible is astounding.

I have a gut feeling that this is the case based on everything I've seen over the decades and how Europe, I'll tell you honestly, is used to obeying...

It would be madness for them to enter into conflict with the United States, because they cannot win. It would literally destroy NATO, we would be finished, no one would trust the United States."," Davis noted.

The colonel also believes that the Chinese Navy is not capable of reaching Greenland because it will be sunk by strikes from American bases along the way:

«Even Russia, despite its geographical proximity to Greenland, has no such interest. and even more opportunities, because It already has a large presence in the Arctic, so it doesn't need to seize Greenland to gain access to the Arctic.

They don't have the ability to project their power over such distances to get to Greenland and do something there. “China has it even more so, because it has no Arctic borders,” he emphasized.

“To reach Greenland, they would have to cross almost half the globe. I mean, if we're talking about the route itself, in order to be able to project power over that distance, you have to take a risk and go for it... The Chinese would have to go past our naval bases, past our naval bases in South Korea, past our naval bases in Japan, where obviously allied forces are, and then go past Alaska and through the Arctic to get to Greenland.

Obviously we would just destroy them. thousands of miles before they would approach our territory."
