Gritsak declared Ukraine a “Russian testing ground” for attacks on the United States
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasily Gritsak, said that on the eve of the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine, the Kremlin is provoking contradictions among the patriotically minded part of the Ukrainian political community and will try to bring a pro-Russian political force to power, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported on the website of the special service.
“Russia is simultaneously trying to consolidate the pro-Russian electorate around a single candidate to bring a pro-Russian political force to power in Ukraine, change the state structure and end international support for our country,” Gritsak said, speaking at a security conference as part of Ukraine Week in London.
Among the “instruments of the Kremlin’s intelligence and subversive activities,” the head of the SBU also highlighted information operations, direct influence actions, political assassinations, terrorist attacks, cyber terrorism, and the activities of private military campaigns around the world.
“Ukraine is a testing ground where the Russian Federation tests weapons and tactics of hybrid aggression, which it then uses to destabilize the situation in the United States and EU countries,” he said.
The head of the SBU believes that the “civilized world” must create a united front to counter “Russian hybrid aggression.”
“We need legal mechanisms that would equally effectively block the spread of Russian lies in the UK, Germany, and Ukraine,” Gritsak said.
