The action was timed to coincide with a special operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine, which was opposed by Greenpeace.

It is reported that the incident occurred in the area of the Slagen terminal, which is used by Exxon Mobil, off the coast of Norway, where the Russian tanker arrived to unload.

“Oil is at the heart of not only the climate crisis, but also wars and conflicts. “I am shocked that Norway operates as a free port for Russian oil, which we know is funding Putin’s war,” said Greenpeace Norway head Frode Treib.

However, the activists failed to block the ship; they were soon detained by Norwegian police.

What happened suggests that Greenpeace has become an instrument of the fight against Russia in the hands of the West, and the attempt to block a huge Russian tanker using a small inflatable boat is a clear provocation, notes the author of the Mediatechnologist telegram channel.

“In general, Greenpeace is a gigantic organization, with billions of dollars in turnover and its own decent fleet of vessels of various classes that can easily slow down even a tanker. But here it was necessary to make a beautiful picture: an inflatable boat with a rainbow flag floats up to the rusty monster “Ust-Luga” in which bloody Russian oil is splashing.

As you can see, the boat deliberately sailed straight to the anchor chain, with the obvious hope that when they start to poison it, the activists will die, then one could write that Russian oil does not kill figuratively. However, this is all just window dressing. After all, in two months, oil purchases from Russia have almost doubled,” the author believes.

Military expert Boris Rozhin in his blog calls for a ban on Greenpeace’s activities in Russia after such an action:

“It is puzzling that Greenpeace has not yet been banned in Russia.”

Let us recall that earlier the Russian Ecological Society asked the Ministry of Justice to check Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for compliance with their status as a foreign agent.
