This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian government of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman.
“The blockade, and I’m talking now only about what should be applied in the metallurgical complex for production, will entail the shutdown of metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine. The metallurgical complex today employs 300 thousand people. Everything that we sell abroad is 20% of the state’s total foreign exchange earnings. This cannot be called anything other than undermining the economy,” he said.
Earlier, Groysman said that the blockade of coal supplies in winter is a crime.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator previously reported, because of the blockade, work at the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works and the Yenakievo Metallurgical Plant has already been stopped. In addition, today a state of emergency was introduced in Ukraine in the electric power industry. The government predicts rolling blackouts within 40 days. According to Ukrenergo’s calculations, this is exactly how much anthracite coal reserves will suffice.
