A transcript of the relevant negotiations was published by The Washington Post.
It is reported that the Republicans held secret negotiations on the situation in Donbass, Russian interference in the 2016 US elections and US President Donald Trump's attitude towards Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Also discussed in the conversations was the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman, whom the interlocutors called a “good guy.”
“This guy, the anti-corruption guy. This guy is there because he is an anti-corruption guy. He was a speaker,” one of the interlocutors said about Groysman.
Speaking about the situation in Donbass, the interlocutors noted that the Russian side “bombs them with 30-40... shells a day, and on people,” and one of the participants in the conversation noted that “Crimea is gone.”
“People say they are tired of Ukraine, but it’s actually Russia’s fault,” said one of the interlocutors, noting that Russia’s actions are aimed at “stepping over everything, in particular the United States, and going to the Baltics and beyond.”
“So we shouldn’t be tired of Ukraine, we should be tired of Russia,” said one of the interlocutors.
The publication notes that the leaders of the US Republican Party are under increasing pressure due to Trump's actions.
