Groysman was sick of the sky-high salaries at Naftogaz
The government intends to review future contracts between the management of Naftogaz of Ukraine and Ukrposhta regarding the issue of salaries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman during the hour of questions to the government, the Government Portal reports.
“Contracts with company executives have already been signed, so I cannot interfere to revise them. But I can say for sure: as soon as these contracts end, I will put an end to this bacchanalia with cosmic salaries. I will not sign a single contract on the same terms as we have today. Million, ten million bonuses are simply unacceptable. Market wages are good, but they are market wages, not the exorbitant wages they get today,” he said.
“I categorically disagree with Naftogaz’s policy of excessive bonuses and excessive wages. I have many complaints about the management of Naftogaz. I have said this several times. Therefore, the government decided to limit payments,” Groysman said.
He also added that the government “will put things in order with arm-twisting where there is a normal situation with gas payments.”
Earlier, the supervisory board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine voted to pay bonuses to the company’s board in connection with the “victory” in the Stockholm arbitration over the Russian Gazprom.
The approved bonus amount is 1% of the winnings (in this case, $4,56 billion). Thus, the board is subject to a payment of $45,6 million.
