In January 2018, exports decreased, while payments abroad and the outflow of foreign currency continue, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman on ICTV.
“There was a fall, it (the hryvnia exchange rate - ed.) is freely regulated and depends on the fact that, for example, in January there is a decrease in exports from Ukraine. If there is a decrease in exports, less currency comes to Ukraine, but there are payments that we make from Ukraine,” Groysman said.
According to him, for the above reasons, a certain imbalance arises, due to which the hryvnia exchange rate falls.
“But when everything starts to work absolutely normally, when we start exporting, when we start maintaining a balance, then the situation decreases and everything remains within the predicted limits. Last year it was the same,” Groysman said.
Let us remind you that according to the exchange rates on January 22, the NBU again lowered the hryvnia.
