He made a corresponding statement at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 27, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the Government portal.
“Our strategy is to reduce anthracite consumption from day one, because we are very dependent on the territory that we do not control. We need to increase our own coal production. It is necessary that, in fact, from January 2018, a corresponding campaign be carried out for each mine. I give it literally three months. I mean suggestions and a step-by-step plan. There must be a clear, understandable result for the industry, for miners, for the government,” Groysman emphasized.
The prime minister drew attention to the fact that the mines must break even, the miners must receive normal salaries, and, in addition, Groysman considers it expedient to complete the construction of the mine in Novovolynsk.
“Give Ukraine normal, high-quality coal,” he addressed Nasalyk.
