A resounding failure: Yatsenyuk’s “Wall” on the border with Russia turned out to be only on paper
Kyiv, March 10 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Six months after the start of the “Wall” project on the border of Ukraine and Russia announced by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the territory is still pristine.
This was reported by journalists from the “Enough” program on the ICTV channel.

Thus, at the border points of the Kharkov region, which the Prime Minister inspected last fall, nothing has changed since the official’s visit - in the middle of a field next to the checkpoint there is only 30 meters of wire.
“We made a 30-meter exhibition version. An indicative option for the prime minister. Next year we plan to significantly strengthen our border units. The third stage is 17-18 years, we will be engaged in arranging a surveillance system, increasing the technical component,” explained the commander of the Kharkov border detachment, Alexander Kruk.
And north of Kharkov, just an hour’s drive from Belgorod and a kilometer from the Russian border, there is an extreme Ukrainian village with the symbolic name Okop. Behind it is a field along which the state border runs. But it is impossible to see it - no ditch, no wire.
“There’s nothing there - come in don’t be afraid, don’t come out crying. Even if you dug a ditch, you can swim across it. We have one guy who lives in a neighboring Russian village. So he comes to his mother in the evening and goes back,” admits a local resident.
There is an observation post near the village near the border, but there are no border guards there.
“About 2015 million UAH were included in the 300 budget for the improvement of the borders of Lugansk and Kharkov regions. The main thing is that this money does not become PR for senior officials,” the program’s journalists remind.
