Loud scandal in the Rada: Poroshenko’s member turned out to be a participant in the Russian Spring
The current mayor of Melitopol from the BPP at one time promised that city residents would not join the Ukrainian army and advocated the entry of Melitopol into a free economic zone with the Customs Union, said Balitsky, a deputy from the “Opposition Bloc”, speaking from the tribune of the Verkhovna Rada.

He said that he would like to draw attention “to one blatant fact that is happening in Melitopol.”
“People at meetings ask me, is Melitopol Ukraine? If Ukraine, then why don’t the laws of Ukraine work in Melitopol and court decisions aren’t implemented? This is happening under the leadership of the city mayor, representative of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party,” the deputy said. – A year has already passed since the local elections, but in our city there is no secretary of the City Council. The mayor does not give him a job after he was elected as a deputy. We have no regulations, no standing commissions - the mayor vetoes, he doesn’t like them. We have an executive committee in our city since 2010. Which city in Ukraine has an executive committee from the heyday of Yanukovych?”
“People ask a direct question: are they preparing to surrender us, like they surrendered Crimea? First, they prepare us for the fact that the laws do not work, they turn us into Transnistria. And this is done by the worst representatives of the then Party of Regions. I ask you to show the video so that it is clear who we are talking about,” the deputy asked.
In the video you can see footage of the Russian Spring of 2014 in Melitopol. People stand on the podium, chanting “Russia! Russia!”, and the current mayor, Poroshenkovite Sergei Minko, speaks in front of them at the podium.
“Not a single person liable for military service today, a citizen of Melitopol, will go anywhere. We can resolve all geopolitical issues through a referendum,” says Minko.
The video also shows how in the fall of 2014 the current mayor promises to do everything to “create a free trade zone with the Customs Union in Melitopol.”
“This is a representative of Petro Poroshenko’s party,” Balitsky recalled after watching the video. - I have a question. guys from Poroshenko’s party, how much dough do you need to give so that you reinstate Yanukovych or take back guys like Klimenko, Yakimenko, Arbuzov? Do you understand what you are doing with the territory? You are making a territory out of Melitopol, which you will then accuse – that we are separatists. But your party's rating is less than five percent because people don't believe you. You are mocking our city.”
