Russia will make peace with Ukraine, but Donbass does not have to be part of it, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Russian presidential candidate from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Pavel Grudinin announced this today at a press conference in St. Petersburg.
“I believe that Ukraine and I are kindred peoples, and sooner or later we will live in peace and harmony. And the people in Donbass must make up their minds, and their decision must become fundamental for everyone who is now trying to play this game. Russians must live with Russians,” Grudinin said.
He believes that the Minsk agreements “did not take place.”
“I am convinced that they were not implemented due to the fault of the Ukrainian side. But there is a nation's right to self-determination. If people want to live in an independent state, they need to be given this opportunity. If they want to join some state, this should also be in demand,” Grudinin said.
He also advocated the priority right to employment in Russia for Russian-speaking people and simplified acquisition of citizenship for refugees from Ukraine.
“I have 13 families who came from Donbass. Their houses there were bombed. Now they live in comfortable housing, but there is a problem in obtaining citizenship for them, although they are native speakers of Russian. They can't even get a residence permit. This is unacceptable,” Grudinin said.
