“It would be quite natural to satisfy the desire of the Donbass population to return to Russia. Or at least recognize their independence. Because people's opinions are the most important thing. People must express their opinions in referendums, which should become the basis of democracy,” Grudinin said today at a press conference in Moscow.
He did not answer in more detail, but suggested that we familiarize ourselves with his interview with the newspaper “Soviet Russia” today.
“Of course, the Minsk agreements played an important role in stopping the genocide of the population of these republics. But the fighting there continues, albeit not with as many civilian casualties. Bandera’s rebels daily shell the cities and villages of the DPR and LPR, as a result of which ordinary people suffer and die. The Minsk agreements have turned into a kind of screen for preparing a forceful solution to the “Novorossiya problem,” says Grudinin in this interview.
“If the population of Donbass (mostly Russian) shows the will to return to Russia, then we are obliged to seriously consider this possibility. If we accepted Crimea into Russia, then it would be quite natural to satisfy the desire of the population of Donbass to return to Russia,” the presidential candidate concluded.
