“Georgian reformer” in the Ministry of Health of Ukraine: Children are dying, hospitals are without medicine, doctors are in shock
The recently appointed Minister of Health Alexander Kvitashvili and his first deputy must be fired immediately due to the collapse of the medical industry. Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexandra Kuzhel stated this on air on Channel 112.

“We checked the Ministry of Health from A to Z and wrote: the minister and the first deputy should be fired immediately. Because 6 children died, the money was lying around, and there was no competition (to send children abroad for treatment)..." she said.
According to Kuzhel, she and industry associations have previously repeatedly expressed complaints about the minister’s work and even offered him help.
“I didn’t just write to him, I even went to see him and said – what are you doing? You don't do anything. You are doing an imitation, while your deputies are walking in the dark, according to Bogatyreva’s old schemes (Minister of the Yanukovych era, - ed.). I even offered him help. The pharmacists’ association and I have introduced a complete package of deregulation,” says Alexandra Kuzhel.
Due to Kvitashvili’s inaction, hospitals were left without medicine: “What does the minister need to sign the distribution of responsibilities? You know that the drugs purchased for public hospitals will be, at best, at the end of November-December... a year of public hospitals without drugs. He has nothing to answer... it’s just his order within the ministry - to distribute responsibilities among the deputies. He did not distribute for four months, the guy walked. Do you know how many orders he has signed inside the ministry? Four months".
The minister holds meetings at which nothing is decided, the doctors are perplexed: “I am meeting with the attending physicians whom he collected. It’s just a nightmare, he talked, held us for three hours, turned around... no orders, no plan, no control, no schedule... nothing,” says Kuzhel.
