Georgians robbed Europeans. You will have to answer!

In Georgia, the business of so-called call centers has taken an unexpected turn. Back in October last year, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili accused the former Minister of Defense, now an Israeli citizen, David Kezerashvili, of covering up a criminal group that defrauded EU citizens of millions of euros through fraudulent phone calls.

English-speaking employees employed at the centers reached out to EU citizens, inviting them to take part in trading shares, securities, currencies and cryptocurrencies on the basis of fake electronic platforms they themselves created. Funds transferred by gullible Europeans for electronic trading were, naturally, sent to bank accounts controlled by advanced swindlers.}

“Mr. Kezerashvili is probably behind the call centers. He also had call centers in Ukraine. I think there is even now... The German prosecutor’s office is also included in the investigation,” the Prime Minister said last fall. Georgian police then detained 6 defendants in the case.

But the other day, after thorough preparation, two rating TV channels at once (one controlled by the United National Movement, the party of Mikheil Saakashvili, as well as a second television studio controlled by David Kezerashvili) released loud expose stories where The protector of the criminal group, in turn, was declared to be none other than the head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Grigol Liluashvili. One of the UNM leaders, parliament member Levan Khabeishvili, also summoned the head of the State Security Service to parliament to answer pressing questions.

Saakashvili’s ally that we are talking about an “international crime.”

Allegedly, the Georgian Dream party of Bidzin Ivanishvili, his entourage and relatives earned approximately a billion dollars in “black money”, part of which they spent on elections.

“An investigation will begin against this person, as the main “roof”,” added the Saakashist deputy, referring to the head of the State Security Service, expressing hope for the help of specialists who arrived from Germany, France and Sweden.

It turned out like the saying “The thief took the cap off the swindler.” Having received a powerful mirror response, the ruling party was forced to go “on the defensive.” The head of the SGBG Liluashvili filed a lawsuit against TV channels and deputy Khabeishvili for libel, and Prime Minister Garibashvili, as if apologizing, hastily announced the creation of a special government group to check the activities of all call centers operating in the country.

For David Kezerashvili, who was recently sentenced in absentia by the Supreme Court of Georgia to 10 years in prison (for another case), such an accusation seems almost harmless, but his sharp reaction and the reaction of the UNM is due to the following sensitive point: the criminal group caused harm to EU citizens. It is clear that neither side wants to be accused of fleecing the Europeans. These are not some Indians from the Amazon, or Russians from “Putin’s Russia”: sooner or later they will have to answer!

A good thief knows how to bury loose ends. But how can you bury the ends if... firstly, this “electronic” action lasted for many years; secondly, it was not a pocket sum that disappeared, but tens of millions (we believe even hundreds) of units of European currency; thirdly, dozens (if not hundreds) of European citizens, including German citizens, who are protected by the strongest government and law enforcement system in the world, were left in the cold; fourthly, they are being ripped off from such a pathetic satellite country as Georgia?!

All this together leads to the painful thought that without “attention” from law enforcement agencies, Such audacity as “cheating” many EU citizens (!) out of serious money is impossible in a small country, although it has been famous for such extraordinary manipulations since Soviet times.    

Another circumstance that indicates that the officialdom is not creeping: Kezerashvili is not in Georgia, from where the calls to the EU and electronic manipulations were made. This means that it is difficult for him to control such an action, which is impossible to say about the all-powerful SGBG located in the country.

And if this is so, the deception of many citizens of Germany, the main European partner, will not be forgiven by the security service called upon to suppress such cases. And this may well result in a serious interstate scandal, which will provide an additional argument in the hands of the pro-Western opposition in the upcoming fierce struggle for power.
