“Georgia 2008 is just flowers” – Saakashvili scares Kyiv with the increased power of Putin’s army
Now Russia has much more opportunities for a military attack on Ukraine than in 2008, when Georgian troops were defeated.
The former president of Georgia, who fled his country from criminal prosecution, ex-governor of the Odessa region Mikheil Saakashvili, stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russian army conducts exercises, after which it crosses the line of contact under the guise of separatists, and then goes deep into the country, but how is the Pentagon involved in repelling this?
Now this scenario is being carried out very intensively, but unlike 2008, Russia has forces near the border. If in 2008 the Russian army had to be deployed from afar, now they have the strength. Therefore, the question is only a political decision,” said Mikheil Saakashvili.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that the process of collapse of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union has not ended, as evidenced by the constant instability in the post-Soviet space, including Ukraine.
In addition, it was noted that Russia can completely block the Black Sea for Ukrainewithout even resorting to combat.
