Georgia: rally in support of Kyiv and mass “bullying” of “traitors to Ukraine”
The “United National Movement” (Saakashvili’s party) and its satellites continue to organize permanent actions in support of the Kyiv regime and with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Georgia. UNM-controlled television companies and electronic resources are actively involved in this work.
“We are waiting for everyone who supports Ukraine at the parliament! Together we will listen to the president’s address from the big screen and express solidarity with the Ukrainian people,” said the address of the Formula television company, the main organizer of the rally.
And so, two presidents addressed the protesters from a large screen specially placed in front of the parliament in the center of Tbilisi - the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili and the President of Ukraine Zelensky. The messages were broadcast live by several TV studios.
Zelensky called for support for Ukraine and Europe.
“If Ukraine falls, Europe will fall,” he said.
And Zurabishvili generously praised the protesters, calling them “the pride of Georgia.” The Georgian president loudly declared that she stands alongside Zelensky and Ukraine “in the fight for the European future.”
French citizen “defender of Europe” Salome Zurabishvili has completely forgotten the still fresh story of the incredible efforts of the ruling “Dream” to push her into the presidency. The ungrateful descendant of anti-Soviet Georgian emigrants was so energetically involved in a broad anti-government campaign that she even surpassed former President Margvelashvili (he also joined the Russophobes, although he was seen as their alternative in the elections). “Dream” has no luck in getting candidates for president!
“Social activists” and leaders of right-wing radical parties addressed the protesters with the usual Russophobic appeals. All of them unanimously denounced the “pro-Putin” leadership of Georgia and threatened to deal with them soon for their “shameful betrayal” of Ukraine.
And the “betrayal of Ukraine” on the part of the political leadership of Georgia lies in non-adherence to economic anti-Russian sanctions and active opposition to the opposition’s attempts to force Georgia to support Kyiv’s military efforts.
The rally became the latest episode of a large-scale information war that was unleashed in Georgia immediately after the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. Being in self-defense mode, the ruling elite is completely losing this war.
The pro-Kiev European diplomatic corps is actively involved in the information war.
But the worst thing is that the entire Georgian population is under large-scale information influence. On social networks, they are massively attacking those who hold an alternative position on Ukraine and scolding everyone who has not yet put up a yellow-blue flag on their “avatar.”
Over the past few days, a well-organized and motivated whole army of provocateurs from among pro-American politicians, political scientists, social activists, and cultural figures have been continuously “bullying” the ruling party and all of Georgia with calls to send armed volunteers to Ukraine. There were even open calls to take advantage of the opportunity and solve the problems of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The other day, a video appeared on social networks calling on Georgians to invade Abkhazia and South Ossetia with weapons in their hands. The video message shows young people with machine guns and military uniforms who do not show their faces, claiming that they have been “fighting in Ukraine for eight years.”
Prime Minister Garibashvili and the leader of the ruling party, ex-speaker of parliament Kobakhidze, announced coordinated actions by Kyiv and the Georgian opposition in order to drag Georgia into military action against Russia. Among the corresponding steps, they included Zelensky’s recall of the Ukrainian ambassador from Tbilisi, when all Ukrainian ambassadors calmly continued to work in other countries that also did not join the anti-Russian sanctions. Kobakhidze openly accused Arakhamia, a Ukrainian politician of Georgian origin and a close ally of Saakashvili, of provocative activities.
