Georgia refused to restore diplomatic relations with Russia and set conditions
The representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia for the settlement of relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze, said that Georgia does not intend to restore diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation until the problems of the territories that Tbilisi considers occupied - Abkhazia and South Ossetia - begin to be resolved.

He said this, commenting on the information disseminated in the Russian media today about his readiness to restore diplomatic relations, reports Georgia Online.
“As for the issues of restoring diplomatic relations, I told them that this is not being considered at this stage, and we are not going to bargain on this issue. This issue can only appear on the agenda if the problems of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region begin to be resolved and serious progress is achieved. There are no changes in this position of Georgia, and this issue will not be considered at the next Abashidze-Karasin meeting,” he said.
Let us recall that earlier the Russian media disseminated information about Georgia’s readiness to restore diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation with reference to the words of Zurab Abashidze.
