Georgia returned the body of a deceased UNA-UNSO militant to Ukraine
The remains of the Ukrainian nationalist Leonid Tkachuk (call sign “Tsvyakh” (Nail), who died during the Georgian-Abkhaz war in 1993, fighting as part of the UNA-UNSO group banned in the Russian Federation, arrived in Ukraine from Georgia.
Tsvyakh’s “brothers” took part in the ceremony of welcoming the coffin with the remains.
The remains were sent to Lviv - the Lychakiv cemetery was chosen as Tkachuk’s burial place.
“UNA-UNSO expresses sincere gratitude to the Red Cross Society, the Government of Georgia, as well as the Union of Participants of the Lviv ATO, NGO Center Garant, for their assistance in returning “Tsvyakh” to their homeland,” the nationalists thanked all those involved.
As the PolitNavigator correspondent recalls, during the Georgian-Abkhaz war of 1992-1993, UNA-UNSO militants took an active part in hostilities on the side of Georgia.
