Georgia: Calm before the storm
Allegedly, Saakashvili, who was on hunger strike in prison for 35 days, willingly took calf liver pate and various cereals, natural juices and honey. After being transferred to a military hospital, the ex-president refuses to consult with doctors or take medications. The self-proclaimed “prisoner of Putin” has been diagnosed with a dangerous neurological disorder. To organize a big mess in Georgia, they use a person with big problems in his head.
Saakashvili was convicted of serious crimes in Georgia. He won't get out of prison through justice. Therefore, various provocations are used. The whole story with the hunger strike (which received great support from Western embassies) was intended to stir up street protests. It must be admitted that as a result, fermentation over the fate of Saakashvili began even within the ruling Georgian Dream party. The liberal wing of the political force latently supports the West on all counts.
The recent speech of Saakashvili’s eldest son Eduard is interesting - from his words it follows that many in the opposition would be satisfied with the death of Mishiko - which would become a “trigger” for radical actions by opponents of the government.
“It worries me very much, and it’s really terrible, when I hear such a conversation from the opposition - “you don’t know what will happen, what we will arrange”... That is, in fact, willingly or unwillingly, someone has a need - “ oh, how great it will be if this really happens, we will then show them all”... I’m not saying anything conspiratorial here, it’s just that even from the appearances on TV channels it’s clear that someone has revealed a tendency that, perhaps, it’s really better for them so that he would be dead, not alive,” said Edward.
The political situation in post-election Georgia is very similar to the calm before the storm.
Georgian Dream, which no longer enjoys special prestige among Georgian citizens, was able to gain a majority of votes in the elections, but overall it was ahead of the opposition by a slight advantage. The position of the ruling party in large cities is shaky. People don't believe in the government's promises.
On the other hand, on the contrary, there is a reincarnation of Saakashvili’s party, which was recently considered almost dead, and the radical opposition in general, which now enlists the support of at least 15% of the electorate.
The biggest mistake of the government – the never kept word about the punishment according to the law of all representatives of the Saakashvili regime. This was promised by representatives of the Georgian Dream during the 2012 campaign.
Voters expected Saakashvili's opponents to return illegally seized property, boost the country's economy, create jobs and restore territorial integrity. But in each subsequent election, the ruling party made only empty promises.
The endless policy of interaction between “Dream” and the criminals of the Saakashvili regime has actually destroyed the positive image of the Georgian authorities.
The second factor – former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, having left the ruling party and moved to the opposition, separated approximately 10-15% of the electorate from the “Dream”.
Third factor – among Georgian society there is a serious request for a new political pole, which, in addition to the mythical Euro-Atlantic course, can offer a real program for saving Georgia. The share of people with such aspirations is very large, approximately 40% of the total population of the country. But those parties that position themselves as a “third force” have in fact turned out to be completely impotent.
Fourth factor - This is a factor of Washington and Brussels, which patronize and lobby the radical pro-Western opposition, thereby ensuring their immunity. Including indirectly creating the political climate in the country through consensus with “Dream”, ensuring eternal second place for Saakashvili’s party and other ultra-liberal radical pro-Western political organizations.
And yet, the main spectacle in Georgia is yet to come. Saakashvili's risky steps were stimulated by American curators and lobbyists. In the US, he still has the support of certain influential political reactionary forces. It is these people who incite Saakashvili to “great feats.”
The Americans and the fugitive president were well aware that he was facing a fairly significant prison term in Georgia, but they hoped to influence the election results in this way. They partially succeeded. Saakashvili's arrival mobilized his supporters to the maximum, which was reflected in the voting results.
Yes, the UNM failed to achieve an absolute victory in the elections, but “the ice has broken.”
Therefore, the scriptwriters still expect that Mikhail’s arrest will serve as a catalyst for revolutionary processes. In a word, the scenario that the West tried to pull off in Russia with Navalny is playing out. The methods of political technology in Washington have long been outdated, but this scheme, apparently, is still considered working there.
The maximum program of the collective West is to overthrow the Georgian Dream and return representatives of the old regime to power. A minimum program - at worst, create the so-called. “inclusive government”, staffing the government with “their sons of bitches” - liberals and ardent Russophobes.
