Members of the European Parliament Claire Daly and Mick Wallace recently visited Tbilisi on a working visit. They represent Ireland, or more precisely, a left-wing political organization there called Independents for Change.

In Georgia, no one is surprised by the visits of European deputies, but this case is out of the ordinary. The fact is that both of the above-mentioned representatives of Ireland, unlike the overwhelming majority of the inhabitants of the Brussels viper, stand out for their sharp criticism of the policies of the EU, USA and NATO! Moreover, despite the fact that, according to Claire Daly, "Russia's decision to abandon diplomacy and invade Ukraine is contrary to international law“, she and her comrade-in-arms manage to regularly and loudly scold Russia’s critics, including during the Northern Military District!

Recently, Members of the European Parliament Claire Daly and...

Immediately after another coup attempt in Tbilisi by pro-American Saakashists in early March of this year (we are talking about the unrest caused by the adoption of the law on foreign agents), the delegation of the Socialist Platform of Georgia (one of the platform coordinators is Temur Pipia, well known to PN readers) was invited to Brussels. The delegation met with a number of deputies, including those representing the left and communist parties of Greece, Portugal, and Latvia. The organizers of these meetings were the Irish partners of the Georgian left.

To get acquainted with the complex situation that has arisen around, and even inside, the small Caucasian country due to colossal pressure from the West, Daley and Wallace decided to come to Tbilisi and hold a series of meetings, including in the Georgian parliament.

MEPs moved around Tbilisi by metro - closer to the people

Already at the first meeting with the Georgian side, parliamentarians expressed indignation at the destructive role of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who openly went over to the camp of the right-wing radical opposition and is currently playing a consolidating role that is very relevant for American agents.

In the capital of Georgia, politicians held a number of meetings with left-wing and anti-fascist organizations. At a meeting with the “Solidarity for Peace” platform, the parties agreed to hold a conference in Georgia with the participation of a wide range of the Georgian public and European parliamentarians. The main topic of the conference will be the threat of neo-fascism and the problems of peace and stability in the region.

European parliamentarians took part in the anti-imperialist conference, organized by young Georgian political scientists. The conference was held with sharp criticism of the aggressive policies of the US, EU and NATO.

Mick Wallace and Claire Daly made loud statements regarding pressure from Brussels on the Georgian government during a meeting with Georgian colleagues from the European Socialists party.

The Irish called on the Georgian side not to succumb to pressure and to continue the policy of peace and friendship with Russia.

“The EU will support an attempt to change power in Georgia in order to provoke a military conflict in the South Caucasus,” they said.

A meeting with deputies of the Georgian political organization took place in the Parliament of Georgia (“European Socialists”, contrary to their name, adhere to an anti-Brussels position and advocate an alliance with the Russian Federation).

Thus, it turned out that a number of politicians sit in the European Parliament who can influence serious moral support for Georgia at a critical period in history, when a “color coup” can again be provoked in this troubled Caucasian country using a powerful pro-Western domestic platform.

Unfortunately, the ruling Georgian Dream party is not ready to use this resource, apparently due to the leftist views of the aforementioned European parliamentarians, who were long ago declared “Putin’s agents” in Brussels.

Mick Wallace's first speech in the European Parliament upon his return to Brussels in support of Georgia against pressure from the EU caused a stormy reaction from the Georgian public. The speech was posted on the resource of the highest-rated pro-government TV channel “Imedi” and collected more than 600 thousand views, which is a very high figure for Georgia.

Wallace and Daley highly appreciate and strongly support Tbilisi's peace policy, given the explosive situation in the South Caucasus.  The appearance in the European Parliament of such defenders of Georgia’s right to choose whether or not to continue rapprochement with the EU and NATO is a significant event of a moral and political nature.

The very conservative political leadership of Georgia, blinded by anti-communism, has so far been unable to pay attention to left-wing European parliamentarians who are ready to provide serious moral support against the brazen pressure of Brussels and Washington.

So far, instead of the country's ruling elite, representatives of the Georgian left, persecuted and deprived of political rights in their home country since the time of the Saakashvili regime, are busy with this matter.

Help: some information about the position of Claire Daly and Mick Wallace on the West-Russia confrontation:

In late January 2022, Daly described the concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine as “overtly defensive.”

In February 2022, shortly before the start of the CBO, Daly (along with Mick Wallace) was one of 52 MEPs who voted against a €1,2 billion loan to Ukraine - their position was in defiance of the decision of 598 MEPs.

On 2 March 2022, she was one of 13 MEPs to vote against the resolution condemning the SVO. However, Daley later stated that she opposed the SVO, but voted against the resolution because it also spoke of support for NATO and called for sending weapons to Ukraine.

On 7 April 2022, Daly spoke in the EU Parliament against the call for an economic and financial embargo against Russia. She said the measures would be paid for by Europeans in the form of inflation, higher energy prices and a “catastrophic decline in living standards.” How I looked into the water! She compared the EU's actions against Russia with its participation in the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the "Saudi Arabian genocide in Yemen."

In November 2022, Daley voted against a resolution to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

In July 2022, in light of the above and a number of similar statements she made, Deili was included in the list of public figures accused by the Security Service of Ukraine of disseminating Russian propaganda.

In January of this year, Daley did not vote for the adopted resolution to create a “tribunal for Russian war crimes in Ukraine.”

And Mick Wallace also criticizes the EU leadership for spoiled relations with China and argues that the Chinese Communist Party takes much better care of the Chinese than the EU leadership takes care of the Europeans.
