Citizens of Ukraine freely cross the border with Russia, regardless of their beliefs, since Russians and Ukrainians are one people.

About this in interview Boris Gryzlov, the representative of the Russian Federation in the Contact Group for resolving the situation in Ukraine, told Izvestia.
“Millions of Ukrainian citizens are in Russia and cross borders freely,” he noted. “And no one asks them about their beliefs.” This attitude is caused by the obvious fact that, as President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said, Russians and Ukrainians are one people. I will add to this that, according to a number of studies, up to half of Russians have ancestors or relatives from the territory of what is now Ukraine.”
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor noted that Ukraine has created a number of obstacles for Russian citizens to enter the country, and recently the Speaker of the Rada signed an education law depriving young citizens of the country of the right to receive education in their native language other than Ukrainian.
“I don’t think that this law will please the residents of Donbass and many other regions of the country where Russian-speaking citizens have never been and did not consider themselves a national and linguistic minority. Shukhevych avenues, Bandera streets... How should the residents of Donbass react to this? It turns out that in the center of Europe a state has appeared that denies the results of World War II,” Gryzlov emphasized.
