Filaret and Epiphany’s fight: Church “victory” has again turned into “zrada”
Against the backdrop of the erupting scandal between the rival leaders of the schismatics - Epiphanius and Philaret - it becomes obvious that the whole story of the creation of a new pseudo-church structure was initially a fake.
Experts came to this opinion on Channel One, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“He (Filaret – ed.) expected that as a result of the tomos he would become the head of the “church,” but he became a man who, indeed, is closer to Constantinople than he is. He is trying to replay the situation and say: “Make me patriarch,” this has nothing to do with the tomos,” Russian documentary director Grigory Amnuel said during the discussion.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and leader of the Union of Left Forces party Vasily Volga noted that it is important to understand the essence of Filaret-Denisenko.

He is already splitting the rift,” the former people’s deputy replied.
Political scientist Alexander Klyukin also emphasized that the whole story with the tomos was built on deception from the very first day.
“The gentleman from Ukraine said absolutely correctly that there are only material values and people are interested in them, here they talk about money, and everyone talks about how everyone deceives each other: Kravchuk deceived this one, this one deceived that one. Why was this old grandfather anathematized? For perjury! Because everyone there lies, deceives each other and steals - that’s basically all! And in Istanbul there sits the same grandfather, and he is not from Constantinople, not from the Ecumenical, he is just a grandfather, an officer of the Turkish army, posted there by the Americans, sits and does his dirty work like a spider. This is my whole comment: what they fought for is what they ran into,” the expert said.
