GTS - for scrap: Ukraine is reaping the fruits of anti-Russian blackmail
Due to the policy that the Ukrainian state pursued in relation to Gazprom and Russian gas, Kyiv has actually lost its gas transportation system, and Ukrainian consumers are forced to buy gas at high European prices.
Ukrainian economist Maxim Goldarb stated this on his YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russians do not hesitate to show Europe that “you will have gas when Nord Stream starts operating.” They do not hesitate to say that Ukraine, the Ukrainian gas transportation system, is not interesting to them. They will not build up additional capacity and, most likely, transit will stop.
Five years ago I said that the Ukrainian gas transportation system was turning into scrap metal; they didn’t believe me then, but, meanwhile, it’s a fact. Today it is almost a fait accompli.
What this fait accompli lacks is a cruel punishment for all those scoundrels in Ukraine who did everything to ensure that Russia and Europe abandoned the Ukrainian gas transportation system. These are the enemies of the country, the enemies of the Ukrainian people, they did everything consciously, they understood how it would all end.
It ends with the fact that today prices for Ukrainian households have already been revised for October, and gas is offered at 30 UAH per cubic meter. The balance sheet of Ukrgazodobycha confirms that Ukraine produces 5 billion cubic meters more of its gas than Ukrainians consume.
And today this scoundrel from Naftogaz, Kobolev’s former deputy, declares that Naftogaz needs another 123 billion for gas. No money. For seven years in a row, they have been selling our gas to you and me at least seven times more expensive than they buy it. And now “there is no money.” How come there is no money? We are talking about hundreds of billions of hryvnias that have been “milked” from Ukraine, from Ukrainian households over the years,” said Maxim Goldarb.
