Nobody needs the GTS - the Germans will turn Ukraine into a “green” testing ground
After the launch of Nord Stream 2, Germany will be interested in Ukraine only as a territory where it will be possible to deploy green energy capacity in the future.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr said this via video link from Berlin on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, Germany promised, first of all, to the Americans, and not to the Ukrainians, that it would not abandon Ukraine. But, at the same time, the Germans generally refuse some kind of grandiose gas contract through Ukraine.
They will buy gas from Russia, yes, but, in principle, in the coming years, it seems to me that Germany is switching to environmental cooperation and a green economy, and what will be required of Ukraine is not that it pumps Russian gas through its territory, but that it joins to a green deal.
That is, she would start installing windmills and would work on biogas and the green economy. That’s where Germany will help Ukraine in everything,” Rahr said.
