The State Transport Service of Ukraine is coming to a head
Kiev
After the launch of Nord Stream 2, the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will almost certainly cease.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Vadim Glamazdin, an ex-adviser to the head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, speaking as a lobbyist for sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline, said this in an interview with Kraina magazine, answering the question of what will happen to the Ukrainian gas transportation system after the launch of SP-2 "
“Gas transit through Ukraine will almost certainly stop. Even despite the contract valid until 2024. In fact, this is the main goal of the construction of the gas pipeline. The Russian Federation knows well how to force Europeans to agree to transit through Nord Stream 2. The Ukrainian GTS will require a significant revision of operating modes. Keeping it all in working order will most likely not be economically feasible,” the expert laments.
According to him, of the 28 EU members, at least 20 are against the gas pipeline, but several countries are against the introduction of sanctions, which is blocking their adoption.
